After earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, magna cum laude, at the University of Missouri on a baseball scholarship, where he showcased his skills as a switch-hitting shortstop, Dr. Matthews went on to pursue his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with honors at the University of Pittsburgh. His commitment to serving others took shape during his esteemed tenure as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, where he honed his skills at iconic facilities like Walter Reed Medical Center and the Orlando Regional Dental Center.
Laying the groundwork for an impressive career, Dr. Matthews underwent rigorous training in oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, and advanced dental restorations, coupled with hands-on experience in managing complex medical conditions. He further solidified his expertise by becoming a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1993. Over the past few decades, Dr. Matthews has established a thriving private dental practice in Brevard County, Florida, where he continues to serve his community with compassion and expertise. A respected member of professional organizations such as the American Dental Association, the Brevard County Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Matthews not only brings advanced skills to his practice but also a wealth of experience shaped by years of dedicated service in both military and civilian dental care.
